At 600 km from the coast of Senegal, Boa Vista, one of the most beautiful islands of the Cape Verde archipelago, guarantees its visitors sun and mild temperatures all year round. Nature is still unspoilt, and offers breathtaking natural scenery. The blue sea, red rock and yellow sand, blend in a palette of colours unexpected for those who see the island for the first time, and never ceases to move even those who return.
Discovered in 1460 by Alvise Cadamosto, the Venetian navigator in command of a Portuguese expedition, the island retains in its architecture the characteristics of the first colonisation, which took place in the late sixteenth century.
In addition to the town of Sal Rei, the capital, as well as cultural and economic centre, you can visit tiny isolated villages with colourful characteristics, and a rich ancient charm.
Each season offers meetings with different marine species: dolphins, whales, turtles, sea eagles and rare birds…
The island is also ideal for water sports enthusiasts from windsurfing, to kite-surfing, wave-surfing and scuba-diving.
Boa Vista, informal and relaxed, finally gives leisure and peace all those who want to escape the pace and noise of big cities.
